The larger question is whether Donald Trump accomplished what he intended. Will he draw a majority of the Jewish vote? Probably not, but based on the applause at the Verizon sports arena, even if he only moved the bar among a wider audience from “Trump is the worst ever” to “Trump isn’t as bad as feared,” he’ll have overcome significant resistance, as he moves toward the Republican nomination. Investors pay the Cuban government in dollars or euros and the government, in turn, pays the workers a meager 10% in Cuban pesos. Corruption is pervasive, undermining equity and respect for the rule of law.
The last U.S. Labor Department unemployment rate report before a major election once again recently reported a big drop just below a significant milestone. The rate which is based on the Census Bureau’s Current Population Survey dropped from 6.1% in August to 5.9% in September in just one month. It is the first time the unemployment rate has fallen below 6% in more than six years.
In growing numbers, citizens of Western countries are leaving their homes to fight alongside jihadists of the Islamic State (IS), formerly known as the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS).
