The single most important event encouraging and accelerating Soviet involvement in Cuba was the Bay of Pigs fiasco in 1961. The U.S. failure to act decisively against Castro gave the Soviets illusions about U.S. determination and interest in the island. … Continue reading
The bottom line is that, for both moral and practical reasons, the United States simply cannot allow Baghdad, Ankara, and Tehran to crush the Kurds. And even if the three partitioning countries succeed, they should recognize that Kurdish aspirations will … Continue reading
In the case of Catalonia, Pandora’s Box has been opened, while the perspective is complicated and risky. On October 10 Catalan’s president, Carles Puigdemont, stated that the province will pursue independence. It should be stressed that within Spain, autonomous Catalans … Continue reading
The Obama administration is doing its level best to turn Texas blue on his way out of office, despite the governor’s withdrawal from the program and the incoming administration’s strong stance against illegal immigration, unvetted refugee resettlement, and non-citizen threats … Continue reading
The liberal media continue to assert that handing over a function of the Internet will have minor repercussions. That’s because few in the media want to blame President Obama for, once again, damaging U.S. interests in his pursuit of the transformation of America. This is a complicated issue, but after the lies employed to sell the country on the phony Iran deal, and on Obamacare, Congress should block this surrender of U.S. Internet oversight for at least as long as Obama is President. When ‘pockets of resistance’ arise in these rural towns, the federal government dispatches yet more contractors who produce propaganda films and entire assimilation public relations programs to force compliance, if not silence in communities that resist. Meanwhile, states like Texas, … Continue reading
Robert Mugabe’s “liberation” group – Zimbabwe African National Union (ZANU) became the chief terrorist organization in Rhodesia supported by the Communist Chinese and was handed power in former Rhodesia – now Zimbabwe – by the duplicitous British Labour government and the feckless Democrat administration of President Jimmy Carter. Rhodesia’s Prime Minister, Ian Smith, summed it up best by declaring, “We were never beaten by our enemies, we were betrayed by our friends.” Continue reading
Any UN agreement will impose high costs on the American economy which will reverse the slow recovery from the 2008 Great Recession and lower the standard of living of most citizens. The public needs to watch what happens in Paris, alert to any threat to America’s right to set its own “national development priorities” with no outside interference. There is always the hope that the next president will have a pro-growth agenda. Continue reading
So, with this bureaucratic interference, there must be some other agenda at play if the government is willfully steering road taxes from efficient road capacity improvements to inefficient non-road uses. Some call it ‘new urbanism,’ others call it ‘sustainable development’ or ‘Smart Growth,’ but the blueprint that spawned it all was the United Nations Agenda 21 program. Agenda 21’s stated goal is to change people’s behavior through restrictions in land use, by herding people into dense inner-city housing, and restricting mobility to force Americans out of their cars and into government-controlled mass transit systems. It’s an assault on our freedom to travel and individual liberty. Continue reading
The United States and Iran are not morally equivalent; we do not share the same creed, vision for the world, or idea of liberty and justice. The U.S. initiates violence only to defend the lives of its citizens or liberate people from tyranny. Tehran’s theocracy initiates violence to further expand its reach with an end goal of establishing a global caliphate under the banner of radical Shia Islam. The U.S. is a liberating force, while the Islamic Republic of Iran is a conquering one. Continue reading
We can either live in a paranoid politically correct world frantically trying not to offend the Hitlers and Mohammeds, and blaming their victims when they kill, or we can be freemen and women who have chosen to take the power to defend our rights into our own hands. While a thousand organizations use the Holocaust as a platform for speeches about tolerance, Children of Jewish Holocaust Survivors is conducting firearms training. Continue reading
On December 1, the United Nation’s annual climate conference opened in Lima, Peru. The two week Conference of the Parties brings together delegates from 194 countries to discuss ways to handle “climate change.” It is easy to dismiss these meetings; this one marks the twentieth year of such gatherings, as just excuses for bureaucrats and activists to travel to exotic locales to have a good time, dressed up with bloviating rhetoric about “saving the planet.” The hippy-dippy weathermen image has been elevated this year by holding meetings in tents. As the UN itself describes the setting, “Much of the social pulse of the Conference is felt outdoors, in an almost park-like setting in the areas between the facilities.” Conference President Manuel Pulgar-Vidal, Environment Minister of Peru, pledged that “voices will be heard” and “bridges will be built.” Marchers waved signs proclaiming “Keep the Oil in the Soil” and other Luddite notions. In other words, the usual spectacle.
Driverless cars will sacrifice freedom in place of vague sustainability. Clear evidence has emerged over the past few years that man does not cause global warming – which is why the environmentalists sneakily changed the phrase to “climate change” – yet these radical policies are still being adopted at great economic cost to taxpayers, both through taxes and rising personal expenses.
The United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) for Palestine Refugees, Supported by U.S. Taxpayers, is Hamas
The U.S. provided $130 million to UNRWA in 2013. UNRWA’s continued operations in Gaza would not be viable without American funding. Congressional investigations and condemnations have led nowhere. UNRWA has adopted neutrality policies, but it has refused to put up a firewall between it and Hamas. And it can’t, because it has become an arm of Hamas. UNRWA is on the front lines of the Hamas War in Gaza.
Where is America led by President Obama? You, Mr. President, have surrounded yourself with advisors loyal to the International Muslim Brotherhood. You have spent billions of American tax-payer dollars to support them. You spoke strongly on their behalf every time you felt that their rights were in jeopardy. Why can’t we see you offer the same support to the Christians of Mosul? Noon is the Arabic letter that represents…
Global warming alarmists continue to suffer blow after blow, as more evidence comes out refuting their claims of man-made global warming. The end of 2013 marked the 17th consecutive year without global warming. Continue reading
Terrell Graham and his wife’s family have owned their ranch in the Texas Hill Country for over 100 years. It’s remained a working farm and cattle ranch, and now Texas state government is stealing their land so private developers can discharge treated sewage from 1,500 new homes into the Lux family’s dry creek bed.
On November 23, the People’s Republic of China (PRC) announced the establishment of an East China Air Defense Identification Zone (ADIZ) and demanded that all aircraft entering or transiting the zone file flight plans with Beijing. China then deployed fighters to patrol the zone; threatening military action against anyone who did not acknowledge it’s authority in what is otherwise considered international…
San Antonio’s proposal smacks of the European-style congestion tax imposed on downtown London, Stockholm and Milan, which carries serious implications for environmentally targeted cities all across America. Continue reading
Who will intervene and tip the scales next in the already far too internationalized proxy wars of the Middle East? Will the USA choose to initiate an overt intervention in Syria as it did in the Libyan civil war, under the UN’s multilateral Responsibility to Protect (R2P)? Or can the situation remain as it is?
With the nomination of Samantha Power as U.S. ambassador to the United Nations replacing the infamous Susan Rice, Barack Obama has filled out his second term foreign policy team, and it isn’t pretty. With the appointment of Chuck Hagel as Secretary of Defense, to that of John Kerry as Secretary of State, the Obama administration has unsurprisingly failed to appoint a responsible foreign policy team that is willing to promote strong American interests in the Middle East.
On April 2, 2013, the United Nations General Assembly voted to approve a treaty supported by the Obama administration that will restrict the export of firearms to countries with poor human rights records. The Arms Trade Treaty (ATT) is being described as a gun control measure that will keep firearms out of the hands of insurgents, terrorists and organized crime.
President Barack Obama has not left the radical mentors from his community organizing days behind. Rather, he has quietly, without announcements, brought them with him to the White House and put them in charge of policy using disguised program names.
United Nations Economist Howard S. Friedman, Masters in Statistics, and a PhD. in Biomedics from Johns Hopkins, declares “Income Inequality is America’s biggest challenge.”
George Washington’s 1796 farewell address urged the United States to avoid entangling alliances with foreign countries.
The Senate transportation bill known as MAP-21 should really be called Agenda 21.
On December 1951, Paul Robeson and William L. Patterson presented United Nations officials with “We Charge Genocide,” a petition that classified the United States with Hitler’s Nazi Germany calling for the UN to take action against the United States in line with the UN Convention on Genocide.
Apparently, I hit a nerve. San Antonio Express-News columnist Brian Chasnoff (see link below) went postal over some columns I penned opposing the Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) and the City of San Antonio’s ‘Complete Streets’ policy.
The Obama Doctrine can be summed up as the assertion that for the United States to have influence and standing on the global stage, it must first abandon its interests and its allies.
Are Americans citizens of a nation or citizens of the world?
Many Americans alive today know nothing at all about the Bay of Pigs invasion, yet its reverberations have had lasting effects on the United States, Cuba, and the world.
What is the dirty little secret the internationalists are hiding from the public regarding the Libyan campaign?
