Sean Hannity focused on the numbers pointing out, “the average public subsidy for a NFL stadium is $266 million taxpayer dollars. Since the year 2000, it is estimated $3.2 billion in federal taxpayer money has gone to help build private sports stadiums. Then you factor in local, and state funding for stadiums; well that number grows to $5.9 billion and $6.7 billion, that’s over just the last 20 years. And if that’s not shocking enough, well there’s the ‘NFL’s Paid Patriotism’ scandal.”

In the latest controversy sweeping the nation, politics has now saturated sports.
It’s known that Democrats have failed in capturing the White House, the U.S. Congress, and the Supreme Court. The narrative of accusations against President Trump by the Left has fallen short of obtaining Democrats’ desired result and now, they are entering the sports arena, unchartered territory. Never has America seen sports become so politicized.
It’s highly likely that the shadow government currently being run by Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton, and their loyalists must have been watching Trump’s Huntsville, Alabama rally. In it, President Trump made it clear where he stood in respecting the country he leads. Subsequently, it is highly suspicious that the Pittsburgh Steelers football players and coach, except Alejandro Villanueva, appeared to suddenly act defiantly during the national anthem the following day. The Steeler’s team and other NFL players didn’t do this on their own initiative – someone seems to have pushed them to do it. Nonetheless, those who orchestrated it didn’t achieve their intended goal. They couldn’t strip away Americans from their love of country.
Unsurprisingly, Hillary Clinton is still on her ‘blame’ tour and has defended the NFL players, yet she confuses the right to protest with the risk of losing one’s job. Of course, American citizens can retain their first amendment rights to speak freely, but there are severe consequences when those in the NFL are on the clock at work, and especially when those paying them demand respect. The reality is that there are even penalties outside the game: disrespecting the flag and the national anthem when those paying for the NFL game expect more, comes with consequences.
The upsurge of reactionary behavior and opinions on Twitter and Facebook has been brewing for some time, and there is an inevitable response. There is now a tidal wave hitting the nation that is cleaning out the corporate welfare corruption. The true athletic reflex of the American people has been to defend the symbol of America and their Judeo-Christian roots. The nation is in an uproar because the so-called movement of “taking a knee” by a small number of athletes to disrespect the symbolism of America has originated, been funded, and orchestrated by the ideological Left – more specifically the underlings of the Clintons and Obamas.
But amidst the attempt to sabotage America’s strength, there seemed to be a defining moment last weekend, someone dared to stand out for his country by standing up: West Point Graduate and Army Veteran Alejandro Villanueva. He did NOT make his teammates “look bad” as he reluctantly stated publicly, and it is NOT Villanueva’s fault. The American people aren’t falling for publicity tricks anymore. In the opinion of many more Americans, the rest of the Steelers team made themselves look bad. In fact, Villanueva’s teammates should be apologizing to him.
The best way to triumph over this scandalous display is to hit those disrespecting America where it hurts – their wallets. For instance, who pays for the stadiums? We the People pay for it. In Pittsburgh, the Steeler’s stadium is partially funded through a higher sales tax in Allegheny County than in surrounding Pennsylvania counties. So, the people who pay the sales tax in Pittsburgh help fund the stadium: the fans pay for game tickets and memorabilia, and the NFL and their players make all the money. It’s “take back taxpayer funded subsidies” time.
On the Hannity Show, Sean Hannity emphasized that if the NFL has such disdain for the American way of life they should remember who is providing the subsidy “that’s given players, by the way, and owners, the opportunity to make millions, and even in some cases, billions of dollars; then it is time to stop taking handouts from the American taxpayers. I doubt you’ll hear this elsewhere in the media,” he stressed.
He then focused on the numbers pointing out “the average public subsidy for a NFL stadium is $266 million taxpayer dollars.
Hannity reported, “There was a Senate Report, it found that from the years 2012 to 2015 the Department of Defense, they actually paid the NFL $6.1 million to honor troops and for recruiting promotions. Now the league did pay back $700,000 of that, but only after coming under intense criticism, what about the rest of the money? Now those numbers are astounding. Now if some in the NFL, they don’t want to stand, you don’t want to honor the flag, the country, the military, then stop taking all the money from the American people, cause let’s be honest, you know what – they don’t need it in the NFL.”
The Daily Signal has even chimed in with a recent article, “Here’s How Much Money the NFL Raked in From Taxpayers,” where several studies with stunning statistics have been highlighted. But ahead of all of this, a petition was already posted on the White House website, “END ALL TAXPAYER FUNDED SUBSIDIES TO THE NFL AND NBA.” If 100,000 signatures are collected by October 24, it’s likely that President Trump will follow through with the necessary action.
